Lombard, IL Cinch Connectivity Solutions, a Bel group company, (NASDAQ: BELFA and BELFB) and global leader in delivering reliable connectivity solutions, introduces the Fibreco Geo-Beam™ EX Electrical Power and Expanded Beam series of connectors. The expanded beam version is the first to market as an ATEX connector.
Cinch Connectivity Solutions’ explosion proof series Geo-Beam EX has been designed in accordance with ATEX and IECEx 60079 specifications, for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas. The Geo-Beam EX product range consists of an in-line plug and box mount bulkhead and is manufactured using 316 grade stainless steel, enabling it to withstand the most extreme environments. The product uses a Tri-Start trapezoidal coupling method allowing an additional locking mechanism with positive mating, and an audible click to ensure full engagement. These connectors are designed to handle electrical and optical signals in explosive environments, such as those commonly found in the oil, gas, and mining industries.
The ATEX cable glands allow for a variety of cable and Geo-Beam EX connector configurations. The range is primarily designed using an 8-way copper connector, focusing around a standard
#16 MIL-C-39029 contact with a variable range of fiber optic configurations using standard MIL- PRF-29504 termini. The expanded beam version is first to market with designs and qualifications that meet ATEX standards. This design uses a hybrid approach to run power, electrical and optical signals, through one connector, which is a feature not available as standard product in the industry today.
